WESTSIDE POLICE SUB-STATION

TRANSFORMING AN EXISTING FACILITY FOR PUBLIC SAFETY

Lloyd partnered with the City of Tucson, the Tucson Police Department, and WSM Architects to transform an existing building into a 77,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art police facility serving multiple divisions of the department. The project converted a former commercial structure into a modern civic building with administrative office suites and specialized operational spaces.

A separate stand-alone building was also constructed to house the department’s computer center. The facility was designed to withstand major events and function as an emergency command center during disasters, ensuring continuity of operations for the City of Tucson.

From Strip Center to

Civic Facility.

Delivered using CMAR, Lloyd provided preconstruction services including planning, value analysis, cost modeling, scheduling, and GMP development. The project transformed a strip-mall façade into a civic presence appropriate for a major public safety facility with only a 3,000-square-foot addition.

Despite a six-month delay due to permitting challenges, the project was completed 30 days ahead of schedule and on budget through careful coordination and proactive construction management.
