ORO VALLEY

AQUATIC CENTER

Modernizing a Community Asset

In partnership with the Town of Oro Valley, Lloyd Construction delivered the renovation and expansion of a 40-year-old municipal aquatic center through a CMAR relationship. The vision was twofold: elevate the facility to support competitive sports tourism while creating a modern, family-friendly recreational destination for residents.

The project revitalized the existing SO-meter competition pool with a raised deck, new competition gutter, sports lighting, scoreboard, diving boards, upgraded mechanical systems, and enhanced filtration — positioning the facility to meet current performance standards while extending its long-term viability.

Phase two introduced a new 25-yard recreational pool, slide, splash pad, equipment room, and a full-service bathhouse featuring administrative space, classrooms, concessions, changing rooms, and lifeguard support areas. The result is a versatile aquatic campus designed to serve competitive athletes and families alike.

Accelerated Delivery.

Seamless Coordination.

With completion required before the start of high school swim season, the project followed an aggressive fast-track schedule. Demolition began immediately upon contract award, and construction was carefully sequenced to meet critical deadlines without compromising safety or quality.

While portions of the facility remained active, detailed phasing and close coordination ensured patron safety and uninterrupted progress. The aquatic center reopened on schedule as a modernized, high-performing community asset.
