EL RIO HEALTH

GRANT ROAD CLINIC

Adaptive Reuse with Purpose

Following the successful completion of a prior health center, Lloyd Construction was selected to transform a former bank into a 33,140-square-foot comprehensive outpatient medical clinic in midtown Tucson. The project reimagined an existing structure into a fully integrated healthcare environment serving dental, pharmacy, family practice, behavioral health, midwifery, OB/GYN, lab, radiology, classroom, and administrative functions.

By repurposing a building with strong structural foundations, the project maximized existing assets while delivering modern clinical infrastructure. The result is a thoughtfully designed facility that expands community access to care while supporting long-term operational flexibility.

Complex Delivery.

Measured Performance.

Delivered through the CMAR method, the project required careful coordination across structural steel, concrete, roofing, finishes, glazing, interior systems, and full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing integration. Transforming a financial institution into a multi-discipline medical clinic demanded detailed planning, phased execution, and disciplined cost control.

Completed in 22 months and below the original budget, the project demonstrates the value of early collaboration, meticulous oversight, and alignment around mission-driven outcomes — resulting in a high-performing healthcare facility built to serve the community for years to come.
